Intramural Girls Softball

Girls intramural softball is started in the spring.  This program begins with a "Kickoff Clinic" in which parents can fill out the registration form, meet coaches, ask any questions.  The clinic is not mandatory and we will take sign ups for this league until the teams are full.  This program is an instructional, non-competitive league available to members of all skill levels. Coaches may be staff of the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club or volunteer parents. Players must have transportation to practices.  The club may or may not provide transportation to games, that is known on a weekly basis.  Our teams practice and play home games at Fortin Park.  Girls are taught the basic skills and rules of the game, and work on eye-hand coordination and strategy. Games are played one to two nights per week, and practice times are determined by each individual coach.  During these practices and games girls can work on throwing, catching, fielding, batting, and bunting. During the regular season, no official scores or standings are kept.  Games may be played as far away as: Schenevus, Milford, Worcester, Davenport, Otego, and Cooperstown.
