Girls Grades 3rd-6th
Girls' softball is an instructional, non-competitive league available to members of all skill levels. Girls are taught the basic skills and rules of the game, and work on eye-hand coordination and strategy. Games are played one to two nights per week, and practice clinics are available in the afternoons, where girls can work on throwing, catching, fielding, batting, and bunting. Games may be played as far as: Schenevus, Worcester, Otego, Milford, Davenport, and Cooperstown. During the regular season, no official scores or standings are kept. This league is always started with a "kickoff clinic".
This program is by invitation only for girls in our intramural league who demonstrate outstanding proficiency in softball. This is a competitive traveling team that plays against other teams from all over the area. The team practices several times a week to hone their skills and learn advanced strategy. Games are scheduled throughout the spring and summer.
Summer Softball at the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club is a three day to five day long camp. It is not an overnight camp and is usually in the morning hours. Each year the camp has different dates but it is always offered in the month of July. The staff at the Club try to have the dates for this camp by the first of June. Please give us a call if you want more information on this camp at any time during the year.
